Why Should You Read This?

Ever wondered what happens when curiosity meets opportunity? It’s a powerful journey of transformation, balance, and freedom.

Amir’s journey takes you from the predictable comfort of managing real estate in the UAE to the dynamic, fast-paced world of forex trading. What started as casual curiosity during a camel racing event turned into a complete lifestyle shift, one built on learning, experimenting, and embracing new opportunities.

Through his story, you’ll see how the right platform, like Varianse’s cTrader, can give traders the confidence to grow with powerful tools, advanced charting, and a workspace that feels built for success. But beyond the charts and trades, this story is about rediscovering purpose.

Amir shows that with passion and persistence, trading can be more than just a financial pursuit; it can bring balance, excitement, and a sense of control over your future. Whether you’re a trader, an investor, or simply someone seeking inspiration, this story reminds you that sometimes, the best investments you can make are in yourself and your growth.

Ben (Host)

Today’s episode is special because we’ve got someone whose story is living proof that trading can truly transform not just a career, but a lifestyle.

From managing real estate investments in the UAE to stepping into the fast-paced world of forex and becoming a full-time trader, his journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Please join me in welcoming our very first guest of this series… Amir!

Amir (Guest)

Thanks for having me, Ben. It’s a pleasure.

Ben (Host)

Can you tell us how trading first entered your life?

Amir (Guest)

Honestly, Ben, it was a hectic routine. Mornings started with the thobe, keffiyeh, and a touch of oud — very much a part of daily life here in the UAE. Then straight into calls with property managers, making sure everything was running smoothly, and from there it was work, meetings, and constantly chasing the next real estate opportunity.

It felt like I was always on the move.

It was a comfortable life, Ben, no doubt. But deep down, I felt like my money could be working harder. The highlight of my week? Honestly, deciding which mall to head to. That’s very “Dubai life,” isn’t it? Comfort on the outside, but inside you’re craving something bigger.

Ben (Host)

I can imagine. Most traders I talk to go hunting for the right platform, compare a dozen brokers, and read reviews for weeks. How did Varianse just “show up” for you?

Amir (Guest)
It blended into my life so naturally — one moment I was checking rents, the next I was checking charts.

I didn’t stumble upon Varianse by searching for trading platforms. It just slipped into my daily routine.

Ben (Host)

Slipped in? Come on, Amir, things don’t just “slip in.” Was it an ad? A friend? Or did Varianse sneak onto your phone while you were shopping at the mall? How did it actually happen?

Amir (Guest)
No, no, not like that…

Ben (Host)

How so?

Amir (Guest)
Well, Ben, I’ve always been an investor — real estate, small projects, things like that. But I wasn’t really into active trading. Then one day, I was talking with a close friend of mine. He’s the type of guy who’s always exploring new income streams and new opportunities.

We were discussing investments when his phone kept buzzing nonstop. He was glued to it, so I teased him: “Habibi, what’s this? Have you installed a new game? I’m here stressing about bills, and you’re sitting there playing Candy Crush?”

Ben (Host)

That must have been a funny moment.

Amir (Guest)
Yes! And then he looked up and said, “No, brother! This isn’t a game — I’m trading.”

That caught me off guard. I said, “Yes, yes, you mentioned this last time. So, how’s it going for you?” That’s when he pulled out his phone, opened the app, and showed me his trades. It was actually the Varianse app. He was in gold positions, and the returns were massive.

I’ll never forget it, Ben. In that instant, it stopped being just talk or theory. It was real money — real results — right in front of my eyes!

Ben (Host)

So when your friend first told you about forex trading, did you get excited right away, or did you just brush it off?

Amir (Guest)
At first, I didn’t take it too seriously. I went back to my busy routine — work and family life. But then, a week later, we met again, this time at a camel racing event — سباق الهجن (Sibaak al-Hujun), as we call it in our language.

We were talking about how life in the UAE has gotten so expensive.

You know — electricity bills are going up, rent is higher, food prices keep climbing. Even my wife keeps telling me her beauty products — Hashmi Kohl Aswad, Henna Sahara, Ajmal perfumes — cost double now.

And don’t even get me started on friends who have both a wife and a girlfriend. Their “inflation” is on another level!

Ben (Host)

You’re absolutely right, life here has gotten so expensive it pushes all of us to think about new ways of making money.

Amir (Guest)
Exactly. When I saw his phone buzzing and those trades in gold showing real profits, I couldn’t just let it go. I told him, “Brother, this can’t be just luck. Show me what you’re really doing.”

I kept pressing him with questions until finally, right there at the camel racing track, he gave me a crash course. I downloaded the Varianse app on the spot, signed up, and within minutes, my verification was done. I placed my very first trades in small positions just to test the waters.

At first, I treated it like an experiment. I gave myself two hours a day to explore the platform, study the charts, watch the market movements, and play with the tools.

In between, I was doing my own online research — reading articles, watching videos, checking what strategies other traders were using.

That’s when I learned about things like risk management, stop-loss orders, and how different timeframes can completely change the way you see the market.

Slowly, two hours turned into a routine — and that routine turned into results.

I started cautiously with gold and yen, but soon I found my rhythm in energy trading, especially oil and the US indices. Oil felt almost personal. Growing up in the UAE, it’s in our economy, in our culture — it’s part of our DNA. Trading it didn’t just feel like numbers on a screen; it felt like I understood the story behind the movement.

Ben (Host)

And from there it just built up?

Amir (Guest)
Yes. Over time, it shifted from curiosity into a routine, and eventually into a full-time commitment. I was still managing my property investments, but instead of spending all my free time chasing the next real estate deal, I started dedicating more hours to trading.

It became about balance — property gave me stability, while trading gave me excitement and growth.

Ben (Host)

And today, you’ve grown from being an investor to a full-time forex trader.

That’s quite a transformation. So your routine shifted from predictable to dynamic.

Amir (Guest)
Yes, absolutely. Before, I’d sip my gahwa in Shisha Café. Now I sip my coffee and check the markets. Big difference.

Ben (Host)

I can imagine. So how’s your life now?

Amir (Guest)
Well, my weekends completely changed. Before, Saturday nights meant dinner and shopping with my wife. But now? Saturday night has a new vibe. It’s “trading night” with my Habibi friends.

Everyone comes over with laptops, charts open — we’re talking gold, yen, oil, and of course, there’s sheesha on the side.

Ben (Host)

That’s such a Dubai scene: sheesha smoke, laptops glowing, gold and oil charts on the screen.

Amir (Guest)
Exactly! So we made a deal at home: Saturday is markets, Sunday is the mall.

That way, I get my trading, and my wife still gets her shopping. Balance, right?

Ben (Host)

Yeah, Amir, you’ve been trading gold, oil, even yen.

When you first started, what gave you the confidence to actually place trades instead of just watching the markets?

Amir (Guest)
Honestly, Ben, a big part of that was the platform itself. I started using CTrader through Varianse, and right away it felt different — clean, intuitive, but also very powerful.

For example, the charting options were incredible. It wasn’t just candlesticks or line charts. I could switch to things like Heikin Ashi or Renko, which really helped me see market momentum in a clearer way — especially with oil.

Ben (Host)

So CTrader helped you move from just observing the markets to actually trading them?

Amir (Guest)
Exactly. And it wasn’t only the charts. The timeframes were a game changer. With CTrader, you can literally go from one-second tick charts all the way to monthly views.

That meant if I wanted to zoom into short-term moves in yen, I could.

But if I wanted to step back and study the long-term gold trends, I had that too.

Ben (Host)

That’s a lot of flexibility. What about indicators? Did you find yourself using those?

Amir (Guest)
Absolutely. CTrader has more than 70 built-in indicators. I relied a lot on moving averages, RSI, and Fibonacci retracements — and the drawing tools were super handy. I could quickly sketch out trendlines, mark support and resistance zones. It gave me structure, so I wasn’t just guessing.

Plus, I loved how customizable the workspace was. I set up different chart layouts — one just for gold, another for oil, another for yen — and with saved templates, I didn’t have to reset everything every time I opened the platform. That efficiency made it easier to focus on the market itself.

Ben (Host)

So in a way, CTrader became your trading “workspace”?

Amir (Guest)
Exactly, Ben. It wasn’t just about placing trades; it was about building a workflow that gave me confidence.

And that’s what helped me transition from being a curious investor to someone who takes trading seriously.

Ben (Host)

Amir, one thing that stands out about trading is how connected the world feels. I mean, you could be trading gold in Dubai while someone else in London is trading yen, and another trader in Tokyo is watching oil at the same time.

Amir (Guest)
That’s true. Sometimes I laugh when I think about it — while I’m going to sleep in the UAE, someone on the other side of the world is just waking up and taking over the markets. It never stops.

Ben (Host)

Exactly. The markets are a 24-hour relay race, and traders are just passing the baton across time zones.

Amir (Guest)
Yes, and with Varianse, I’ve even connected with traders from Asia, Europe — you name it. It honestly feels like one big majlis — except instead of serving gahwa and dates, we’re sharing charts and trades.

Different corners of the world, but all sitting at the same digital table. That’s the kind of global trust Varianse has built. It’s like the markets brought the whole world into one room.

Ben (Host)

That’s a perfect setup for my next question.

Let me ask you: Amir, how global is Varianse’s customer base?

Amir (Guest)
Brother, Varianse is everywhere — from London to Dubai to Singapore. That global trust speaks for itself.

Ben (Host)

Well, sheesha, charts, and global trades that’s not a Wall Street scene; that’s pure Dubai style!

Amir (Guest)
Exactly, Ben. But hey, it doesn’t matter if you’re in Dubai, London, Tokyo, or New York — Varianse brings everyone into the same room. That’s the beauty of it.

Ben (Host)

And that’s the magic of trading with Varianse.

Global reach, trusted tools, and stories like Amir’s that prove the opportunity is out there — you just have to take it.

Amir (Guest)
And don’t forget… balance, my friend. Saturday for trading, Sunday for shopping.

Ben (Host)

Words of wisdom from Amir himself!

On that note, thank you for joining us today,

Amir. It’s been a real pleasure.

Amir (Guest)
My pleasure, Ben! Anytime.
